Ian's Blessing and Celebrating July Birthdays

Sunday Ian was blessed at church. Everyone in our family was there, including Granny Slash! JC and Vanessa's brother, Ryan, held the microphone, and Craig, Kyle, Curt, Cole, Andrew, Paul (Vanessa's dad), and Logan (Vanessa's brother) stood in the circle.

Curt and Vanessa both bore their testimonies, and as Vanessa said, our family had its own branch in the  back of the chapel!

Sunday was also the day we celebrated all the July birthdays. Addie, one of the birthday folks, and Corinne helped me bake cakes.

Addie chose a yellow cake with chocolate frosting and Corinne wanted a spice cake with vanilla frosting.

 The apron Corinne wore doubled as a baby moby wrap.

We grilled chicken outside and had a huge potato salad to accompany it. Afterward, the birthday people gathered together to be serenaded.

 Craig (7/7), Addie (7/20), Cole (7/13), and Kyle (7/16.) 

 Braden took care of the traditional playing of Happy Birthday on the player piano.

Afterward, the birthday celebrants opened gifts and ate cake, and then we played some games indoors and out.
