And the Dreams Have Begun

It's only July 2 and school doesn't begin until mid-August, but I had my first back-to-school dream last night. I dreamed it was the first day of school and the custodians had replaced my desk with an old wooden one. It was empty, so all my files, supplies, grading pens, and such were gone, too!

To make it worse, some parents had decided to join their child at school and were in their kids' seats waiting for the buses to arrive so that they could help their child unpack. This made it difficult for me to go look for my desk, but I was able to slip out and look. I woke up while I was peeking into Tricia's classroom two doors down from mine. (She didn't have it, but for some reason she had a piano and a cat in her classroom!)
Now, I did run out to my classroom yesterday to check it and to get some yarn that I needed for Mila's quiet book, and while there I walked through the school to see what progress the custodians were making on cleaning the building, so perhaps that is what triggered my dream.

Still, it is awfully early to be thinking about school - I'd like to enjoy my summer a little more before starting my prep for the coming school year!
