I recently ran into Walgreens to pick up a few things, and, as always, took a peek at the display of one of my mother's books for sale. For whatever reason, Walgreens keeps them in stock even though this book was published in 2000.
To my surprise, there was a special cover on the book, one I had not seen.
I checked the inside of it, and the nothing had changed - copyright 2000 and printed in Italy. What was the deal? I decided to ask the clerk at the checkout counter.
"Oh, those came in last week. I think the authors dropped them off."
Uh... No, they didn't. One of them (Paula) died several years ago, and my mother is in University Place and no longer drives.
I still don't know where the mystery books came from, but it is nice to see my mother's work still available to the community.
