After the hoopla of Thursday's Thanksgiving dinner and the quads' baby shower on Friday, Saturday was our day to relax and play.
Surprise! Braden is now tall enough to play the player piano by himself! (I love how Corinne is winking at the camera.) He played a lot of Jingle Bells and Star Wars.
Aunt Lisa went outside and played some corn hole with Addie and Braden - the day was sunny and temperatures were in the mid forties.Since it was so nice outside, I decided to put a few outdoor decorations up. Addie and Braden helped.
Addie works to untangle the lights for the bush at the east corner of the house.
It took some doing!
Usually I hang the giant ornaments on shepherd's crooks in the yard, but the kids wanted to put them on the bush with the lights. That was fine by me!
Later in the day, one of the helium balloons from the shower got lose from its anchoring weight and soared to the living room ceiling. I was content to wait until it deflated and came down naturally, but not Kyle. Always up for a challenge, he began working to retrieve it.
The ceiling is 18 feet high. Using Craig's golf ball retriever, Kyle set to work.
Lisa and Ashley cheer from the top of the stairs while Addie, Cole, Emily, and Vanessa watch. Eventually, I think every male family member got in on the act.
Andrew sitting on Kyle's shoulders didn't achieve the goal, so they tried Braden on Kyle's shoulders with Cole standing on a stool. As you can see from the bottom left photo, Kyle and Cole felt quite manly at their accomplishment. That poor green balloon didn't have a chance!
I got Braden a volcano kit at Imagination Station that afternoon, so in the evening, he and I made the concrete exterior while Emily and Addie watched. (I'll do a separate blog post about our trip to Imagination Station.)The day concluded with the kids going out to dinner while we stayed home and played with the grandchildren. Carla and Pooma were here for dinner, and putting kiddos to bed (something I rarely get to do) was a delightful way to end a lovely day of family togetherness.
