The Quads' Baby Shower

Friday we all hit the ground running. The quads' baby shower was at 1:00 and we had lots to do to get ready. Lisa, Jenny, Judy and I were hosting, and had divvied up the responsibilities among the four of us.  (Originally, Vanessa was hosting, too, but when she announced her pregnancy, we told her she could no longer help - she was now a guest.)
Emily's sister, Cathy, came to town to help, too.
Judy brought a huge suitcase on the plane full of decorations. She is an artist and very creative. Lisa did the food - strawberry napoleons, bacon wrapped dates, veggie pizza, cocktail weenies, cheeseballs, and nuts.
Cindie made a floral arrangement that had candy interspersed with the flowers.
The theme was fairy tales, and Judy made Rapunzel's tower complete with a blonde braid trailing out the window. We hung it from the upstairs railing. (That's Daddy Kyle in the background.)
My favorite was the castle she made out of diapers and swim noodles. We also wrapped the pillars into the dining room with greenery and turned them into beanstalks.
Yesterday's Thanksgiving appetizers were whisked away and my antique buffet was used to hold baby gifts and the wishing well (made about 100 years ago by my Dad's uncle in St. Louis - it was actually made to be an ash tray but I used it with my horses and dolls as a child) had little burlap bags filled with jelly beans and magic coins for party favors.

Cindie revived a childhood memory by wrapping a giant box and filling it with balloons that popped out when the girls opened the box. Attached to ribbons were gift cards.
(The ladies all wore princess tiaras as honored guests.)
In addition, each mama got a copy of Hansel and Gretel to read to their little one.
Ashley gifted her sisters with onesies on which she'd stenciled funny sayings.
These were a huge hit!
Cathy, Lisa, and Pooma entertain Corinne after she woke up from her nap and joined us.
This photo shows Rapunzel's tower.

It was a lovely family shower and the gals got some really nice gifts, plus we all had a ton of fun.

Now, we await the births of the quads!
